APEA review 2013

Did you feel the apea review was similar to the actual AANP exam.

I took this review mid Aug 2013 and tested the first week of Sept. When I left the review, I felt that it was just that, a review. I will say, after having tested now, that there was much more work to do after leaving the review. You receive a syllabus during the review that I went through one more time on my own. Then I bought her questions book that has a section for each system/specialty and several mach tests. Anything I felt wasn't covered in a lot of detail or I needed more work on I'd look into on AAFP or whatever guideline website. She recommends doing a predictor exam to see where you are at preparatory wise stating that a 66%-68% or better is indicative of likely passing. I scored a 84% the first time around, it was difficult, and the questions it gave me were much harder than the questions in her question book, but I didn't get an 84% for nothing, I had been studying her review material for 2 weeks straight. The Hollier review is broken down to be SO basic (I hear fitz is way more detailed). Amelie Hollier says, if you KNOW that syllabus she gives you, you will pass. Good luck!
