Hi all,
I have to take 8 pre-reqs and I can only do it one at a time. (I work FULL time and have a 3 yr old and a 16 month old.) I have 2 done, 6 more, so far I have a 4.0. But the first two were the "easy" ones (human nutrition and developmental psych.) So anyway, I come here for encouragement because it seems like I'll never get to the end. I need all my pre-reqs done by the time I apply and I'll be doing so in Jan of 2012 for (HOPEFULLY) acceptance in the Fall 2012 ABSN program.
Anyone else out there having to take this REALLY slowly? Hopefully I'm not the only one!!

I know you posted this a while back, but I wanted you to know you aren't alone! I'm planning on applying for either the Spring 2012 or (with a little luck) the Fall 2011 ASN course.
My husband is the primary bread winner, so I stay home to care for our two kids (ages 3 and 9 months). I'm able to take one "major" class at a time along with an easier one. This is my first semester and I'm taking College Algebra and Sociology.
Hang in there!

I have my bachelors in Criminology, so I have some pre-reqs already (Psychology, Ethics, Computer, English Comp, Math).
I have to take Microbiology, Nutrition and A&P I and A&P II, before applying to the nursing Program. I currently work full time w/ 3 kids. I can only take 1 class per semester. I am taking Nutrition first in the summer, A&P I in the fall, A&P II in the Spring and Microbiology in the summer. My counselor thinks I should be able to apply for Fall 2011.
My husband and I are trying to get finances in order so I will be able to quit working to focus on school once I start the nursing program.
I am very nervous and am also taking it slow, especially as I have been out of College for 8 years! And when I went to college, I had only 1 kid! Luckily my sister's boyfriend is currently in the program and I am sure he will be a huge help. I am already reading and studying the nutrition book so when I start in May, I will already be somewhat knowledgeable. My dad also just became a massage therapist 3 years ago, so he dug out his A&P books for me to start studying now. I just immerse myself every night to get a head start!
Good luck to you and don't worry I am sure many of us are going at a snails pace due to our hectic lives!
