I lived in Anchorage for 40 years - been to Ketchikan a couple of times. Lots of tall trees, rain foresty - in other words it rains alot! Keep in mind the only way to get there is by boat or plane - they have a good airport. Fishing and timber and tourism the main businesses. You can't drive there so you are landlocked. But there are lots of neat roads to explore. There's also a great Totem Pole park near there. Small town - not sure of the population. Type in the city name in Google and see what you get.
Good luck in your decision!

I am considering, for the second time in my career, a move to Ketchkan, AK. Anyone ever been there or know anything about it?
