I'm more than frustrated. So after applying since June 2013, I have been proposed refusal and referred to bridging program at the fine Price of 10000 dollars. I am an Australian girl WHO went overseas, married, had two children, did my EEN and worked for 10 years in the Medical field and did the Bachelor of nursing in 2008 where I worked in surgical and acute care settings.
On return to Australia to spend time with my parents, I hoped I could use my qualifications in my own home country, but to no avail. I also had to do the English test, go figure, as you can clearly see I really need it after doing primary and high school here in Australia. It all has to do with the new 8 criteria set out by the NMBA. Even though I Applied long before the new rules they took mine into account and dated it back to applications received form the 8th October 2013. They claim that criteria 2 and 3 where the school is to be accredited by external accreditation authority is not met (guess what, it didn't exist in Australia either in 2008 when I completed my bachelor study)It has been almost 2 years now: i moved back to Aus in July 2014 and have since been working as as AIN in a hospital locally. I have literally used thousands of dollars, it has cost me and my family many tears and now when my children need me most after migrating to a new country I must do bidging in NSW??
There is no bridging course in QLD of course. Good luck to all those WHO apply after the new rules are put in place as it is almost impossible, I am ashamed to say as a fellow aussie. I love Australia and my family here but the beauracracy of this all has got me Down. However I will not give up on my profession and doing what I know and love best. Would love to get in contact with Lisbeth22 if youre still around.
BTW I did my studies in Denmark.
