ADN from a Tech College Vs Regular 2yr College

Published

I was wondering whether there is a differece in getting an ASN degree from a Technical College Vs a regular 2yr college. Will it make a difference as far as bridging to a BSN if you go to a Tech College.

There are a few things you need to consider when deciding what school to go to, and they are usually related. Find out if they are accredited first and how their NCLEX passing rate is. Usually a school doesn't hold accreditation if their NCLEX pass rate is low and you might have trouble bridging to BSN if the school you got your degree from is without accreditation. All you have to do is ask the school those two questions and use your better judgement. Just because they have accreditation doesn't mean they always will too so just remember to do the research. We have a local state college that has it's accreditation dangling by threads right now because of poor NCLEX pass rates so it might be best to stick to one that has a consistently good pass rate.

No difference at all. In fact, as long as it is accredited, go for it!
