Accepted to Bellarmine...but...

Just got an acceptance letter from Bellarmine saying I'm to start in the may 2006 cohort. But I'm a little unsure if I should attend Bellarmine. Is anyone attending Bellarmine's accelerated nursing program or know someone who is currently attending Bellarmine? 'Cause I have no clue whatsoever about their nursing program. If anyone knows anything pls pass on your knowledge.

p.s Bellarmine university is located in Louisville KY.

I went to UofL for three years so I cannot speak of Bellarmine's program. But there are two people in my nursing class who were accepted into Bellarmine's program and ended up enrolling at a state school due to the high cost of enrollment. I'm in the Louisville area as well but I could not justify spending that kind of tuition for a degree that I could get for a small fraction of the price. Good luck.

I too was accepted into Bellarmine University's accelerated BSN program for 2006, and am very grateful because that's the only school that accepted me! You're right, it is expensive, but I figure I can do it for one year. If it were a traditional four year BSN program, I could not afford it and would look elsewhere. As far as how reputable the nursing program is at Bellarmine, I have two aunts who live in the Louisville area, and both say that Bellarmine graduates seem to have somewhat of a leg up, at least in the Louisville area. They also say that they've heard good things about their nursing school, so you can take that for what it's worth. I tried to get into IUPUI's accelerated nursing program as well as Rush University (in Chicago) and didn't get into either one, and I still haven't figured out why and probably never will! My GPA for my undergrad was a 3.34 and my GPA for prerequisites for nursing is well above that. I'm just ready to start the program and finish, as I am 24 years old and feel like I'm wasting valuable time. Good luck to you wherever you end up!
