Accelerated BSN program options

Published

After some research on the topic I have figured out that my best course of action as far as pursuing my nursing education is to follow an accelerated BSN route. That said, any ideas where I put in an application?

Critical information about myself to help narrow down where I apply to and (hopefully) go.

BS Human Biology from UCSD

Single, 29

Love hunting, fishing, shooting (a state where I could do this even a little would be fantastic)

Would like to get out of California for a while, if not permanently. (Sigh. Will miss my little nephews though)

Of course, finding a place that is good as well as economical is beneficial.

Any help, information or opinions are appreciated. Thanks, Allnurses community.

I have the exact same major from the same school. Attended Samuel Merritt University ABSN program after graduation (1 yr but the tuition is 60-70k), graduated last June, got a new grad position last November in the Bay Area (the competition is absurd here). What job/healthcare experience have you had since graduation? Have you started the prerequisites? You can google ABSN programs in the area you plan to move to.

I think my degree covers most of the pre-reqs as far as I can tell and I have an EMT licensure with some experience with that.

I have applied multiple times to the local JC about getting in but I haven't been accepted there and its getting discouraging.
