aas or as in nursing?

Is there any difference between the two? Can you become an rn with either one after you take a liscencing exam? On payscale website it says that as makes 5,000 more per year than aas degree..is this true?

My take on it is strictly from the standpoint of transfering to another university. You'd do better with an ASN or AS or ADN (how ever your school references it). The AAS, which is an Associates in Applied Science is usually does not matriculate into the first two years of a BSN program or a BA program for that matter.

I am presently getting an AS in Health Science (most colleges call that pre-nursing, same thing) and Spanish, and due to both being Associates of Science, they satisfied all lower level courses (freshman/sophmore). So if I were to continue on that path for either discipline, I could attain a BS in either Spanish or Health Science, with an AAS - I could not.

Just pop your head into the counselor's office, they can explain the differences to you in terms of how it will affect the rest of your education. My counselor is fabulous.

Hope that helps.
