A little help here

I am a 27 year old mother of 4 kids. I have always wanted to be a nurse but want to do so now more than ever because I now I have four reasons to. I am doing my prerequistes at CPCC and I was looking a the schedule for some of the nursing classe and they conflict with my job. I work as a buss driver and I wanted to know if anybody has any tips for studying and will me working full time conflict with my going to nursing school? Just a little worried.

It would depend on the program. Some will offer evening and weekend and some will offer days. If your program offers days then there is no way around it. Nursing programs will expect you to rearrange your life around the class and clinical schedules. Maybe see if you can drop to part time and dont work the days that conflict with your school schedule. Or maybe find another job. As for working, it just depends on you. If you can schedule time for study, family, and work, and still pass your classes then its fine But if you really struggle juggling it all, then you will probably have to quit or work less hours.

Hi- and good luck with your school efforts. I myself have recently enrolled in a nursing program. My friend who's a few semesters ahead of me and has started her clinicals has said that she knows why they recommend students not to work while in nursing school... It's a lot of work, and involves countless hours studying. If you are able to enroll in a part time nursing program I think that would be best. Since you have a lot on your plate, not to mention your children, In my opinion you will either have to enroll in a part time program or search for scholarships and grants that will help you while in school or both. Depending on your nursing program they may schedule 12 hour clinicals at some point, or break up the clinical / lecture schedule. You will want to be prepared either way. I have switched my work schedule so that I work over night and go to school in the evenings.. the only problem is that Im asleep when the rest of the world is awake!! lol , but its good for study time.
