  1. Hospitals have fitted sheets [corners attached] in WV. N&V&suctioning = my 'dreaded' jobs --I applied to work with hemodialysis & was told that my 'dreaded's NEVER occur here. I found out that this is usually the ONLY time that they HAVE N&V & need suctioning. The fitted corners are true; the NO N&V&suctioning wasn't. Moral of the story=be careful & check things out for yourself
  2. In all my years of living [56y], I have found that the best policy is to be upfront and honest--Then you don't have to remember what you said that you said--Since you're asking about whether to tell or not--it seems to me that this is bothering you some--I could be wrong, but again, it's definitely MY opinion. What do you think would happen if they were to find out about it from some other source? Are you planning on working there after you have your baby? If so, you just might want to consider telling them pronto so that you don't run the risk of them thinking that you were withholding info on purpose... Hope things turn out well for you and that you have peace.
  3. would love to hear how your move to Texas worked out
  4. A knee injury=RSD[Reflex SympatheticDystrophy= 1988=now called CRPS(Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome= the'And' was left out=making it CRAPS--which it truly is!! ]. Pain relief:'91 with DBS [DeepBrainSyndrome]started my trip to 'latex allergy' land. '93=Dx'd=Fibromyalgia Syndrome [FMS]=an HLA testing idicated 13 allergies including latex. [Adhesive&plastic tape would cause me to breakout...even paper tape turned my skin red & itchy; BPcuffs&car tires would give me a headache; forget about blowing up balloons...I thought everyone had a terrible taste in their mouths & got headaches whenever around anything latex. To date my latex allergy only affects: skin, taste[mouth], & strong headaches. Am trying to avoid anaphylatic shock. I'm curious about how anyone could actually work in a hospital with all it's latex supplies; yes, I know that NOW most things are being made out of non-latex stuff=to me it feels like=too little, too late. An urologist took one look at my allergy list [1 1/2 hrs /p my scheduled appointment time]; see latex; and tell me that he "doesn't do" latex free stuff" and to find another urologist. He also added that he would 'retire' before anyone could make him switch to nonLatex stuff. I went from , to , to = I had already waited 6 weeks for this appointment... What YOU must have gone thru!!! ...{I worked at a PRO-reviewed charts and made phone contacts /p RSD '88. It kept me from daily latex contact=only near it with stuff I could mostly avoid=balloons, tires etc. That doesn't count my hospitalizations=I even received a 'latex free' kit on my last hospitalization WHICH the staff DID NOT use, but of course charged me for it]... Again= you must be a !
  5. to pagandeva2000= you're very welcome for your thanks :-) [maybe I can learn how to put this message at the bottom of your comment?] ooopppsss bedtime= then I can handle tomorrow better ;-)
  6. My name? From experience as a patient [i'm used to being the nurse]&found that nurses can be judgemental and jump to conclusions instead of assessing the actual situation AND prejudice the others against you. Apparently neurosurgery floor RNs never learned that methadone can be used to treat chronic pain also--instead they decided that I must be 'hooked' on meds and withheld them from me after surgery. Now I'm trying to get as many nurses as I can to realize that RSD [reflex sympatheic dystrophy--now called CRPS chronic regional pain syndrome] is very painful especially if you have to have your deep brain stimulation removed due to hospital acquired infection [methyline resistant staph EPI deep inside my surgical wound], so please help spread the word that methadone is NOT just for detox any more... and pain IS all in your head because that's where the pain registers...no head, no pain... this way my disaster can hopefully help others to avoid the torture that I had to endure. Thanks :-)
