After two years of trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life after high school. (I'm 19), I've figured out what I want to do. I've known for a couple years but I was scared of going through with it, and I've also been in a mediocre nursing program in southern Iowa. I transfered programs to DMACC (Des Moines Area Community College) and got the classes I already took transferred as well. I'm enrolled for 4 classes in person and I'm hoping to take my CNA courses next fall and my goal is to be in the nursing program by fall 2016.

I'm excited. I'm hoping to go on to get my BSN, and later my MSN so that I can be a CNM. I'm not set on being a CNM as I know how many opportunities there are in the nursing field, so we'll see where life takes me.

Finally, someone who I can completely relate to :) I'm 19 as well and took a year of classes before deciding that I wanted to be a nurse, eventually a CNM. I am currently taking my pre reqs and plan on applying and hopefully being accepted to an LPN program this fall. Can't wait to hear more from you!

Thanks for responding! I'm excited to be starting up again. Im so happy to have a fresh start at a new college (my GPA and financial aid is wipe clean. Yay!) I think that DMACC will be a better suit for me and will make me a better nurse. A couple months ago when I was looking at other programs, I was shocked to see how in depth DMACCS program was compared to the one I was in. The program I was in didn't require you to be a CNA or take the advanced CNA course, take the TEAS-V, or any biology classes with a lab. These are all minor issues, but they were enough to make me question the program I was in originally. So, I made the decision to switch colleges, and I think I'll be glad I did. :)

I saw your post earlier and I'm glad you responded. I think we'll both have a great year, and I hope you keep posting. :)
