Hey all,

I've read a plethora of posts regarding the pros and cons of the Boston College Direct Entry program, Northeastern Direct Entry, and MGH Direct Entry. While some argue the lack of BSN from BC won't make a difference, others argue that it does. I've yet to find concrete evidence one way or the other and most likely won't until I hear from people actually in the BC program. Does anyone have current input on this matter/ recently found work with simply the RN degree while at BC?

Also, since my applications are due in a week, I would love some insight from recent accepted students to these schools re undergrad/ prereq GPA, experience, etc. There is a lot of discussion of the former throughout this board but it tends to get convoluted amidst the array of postings on here! Some current feedback would be great -- and I would love to hear from anyone applying for Fall 2014.

I've also looked into this. There are several BC alumni here who posted that the lack of BSN made absolutely no difference for them. The MSN is what counts. I also just applied to BC and MGH (not Northeastern due to their financial aid policies) and 100% would rather go to BC, primarily due to the lower cost and shorter time frame. I haven't been accepted yet, so I won't post any details about my GPA, etc.

Did you make it to the BC Information Session? I unfortunately missed it and I think I just read in a different post that you said preceptors aren't necessarily guaranteed...can you elaborate?

No I did not go to that session, and I was not the one who wrote that post you mentioned. From what I know, BC does guarantee preceptors, as any solid, top-rated nursing program should. I would not apply to a program that does not guarantee preceptors, especially for how much these programs cost.
