I posted this in the Pennsylvania section, but it might also be more of a general-school-advice type question.
I am a new member of this forum and I am looking for a little bit of advice. I live in the Philadelphia area and have been looking into programs and options to go back to school. I graduated from undergrad over 5 years ago with a BA in history, and I went on to go to Drexel's iSchool for a Master's in Library Science. I considered going into healthcare in my 20s, but I did not. I'm now working as a librarian, but I really want to go back to school to pursue a Nurse Practitioner degree (possibly PhD). I have been researching programs and feeling really overwhelmed. I know that I will have to go do some undergraduate prerequisite programs in order to qualify for any of the fast-track BSN programs here (Like Drexel's), but am really unsure where to start. I don't have many of the required sciences (Though I might have a Chemistry credit from my undergrad. I'm waiting on those transcripts to get here). I was thinking that I should take the science classes at Community College (probably CCP) and then apply to a fast-track program, or even a regular BSN. Does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone been in this situation before? Is a fast-track program a good idea? Any help or advice is much appreciated!
