any new oncology nurses want to share experiences??

starting a bmt/med onc job next week.. i am a new grad and i am very excited/scared. i thought it would be fun to share stories/experiences either on allnures or through private messages/email with another new oncology nurse :)

Oncology/BMT is a great place to work! Where are you going to be working at? If you are a new grad, you will likely be in an internship program and they should teach you all that you need to know. I would not worry about trying to pre-study. I was a Heme/BMT nurse at a big cancer hospital, and they trained me as a new grad. I loved it and hope you will too!

I just started a new oncology/infusion center job. i have been there two weeks and love it so far. What does bmt stand for? (dumb question ?)

Im an RN (less than a year) with 7 years prior LVN experience.

BMT stands for bone marrow transplant. Btw, that's not a dumb question.

I am a new grad on a Med/Surg/Oncology floor- 9 weeks in! I'm loving it. I can't wait until I can get my chemo certification and start giving chemo. So exciting, I love working in Oncology. Always have been interested in it.
