Scholarships anyone?

Hi everybody! I'm going to be starting nursing school in the fall and I'm looking into scholarships. Who all out there is applying for scholarships and where are you finding the best places to look for them. My school has some smaller scholarships but I'm looking to expand on that. Any great ideas would be appreciated!!

i would also like to know where are some good legitamate places to get scholorships??

I'm applying for a scholarship through a local hospital group. For every year they pay for your schooling you sign a contract for a year of work. The thought of being stuck working for them doesn't bother me at all because that's where I want to work anyway. :) It is also nice to know that when you graduate there is a job waiting for you and if there isn't all debts to the hospital group would be forgiven. Now I'm just hoping I actually get it.

Can u explain this process please? How do u go about finding a hospital that does this and how does it work...do they pay u less for the years that u wrk there for?

Most hospitals have scholarship programs if you look on their websites. Hospitals are usually owned by groups which include other hospitals, pain centers, etc. Contact a hospital in your area and ask them if they have these opportunities.

I don't know about other programs but this one doesn't work that way. The only thing you are signing is a contract stating you will work for them for a year for every year they pay for your schooling. If you choose not to work for them then you will have to pay that money back. If you graduate and they don't have a position available for you then you are not responsible for the money they paid on your tuition. Hope this helps.

The school I'm going to be going to has smaller grants like the one you are talking about peas&carrotts but not as large. That sounds pretty great! Hopefully I can find something to add to the one my school offers (or hopefully still offers).
