Please help me decide! UMDNJ or Drexel ABSN programs?

Hi,

I am new to this forum and need help soon. I have been accepted to Drexel's ACE program for next spring but I'm also looking into UMDNJ's accelerated program also since it is closer to home and probably cheaper. I need to decide within 4 weeks since a non-refundable deposit is required to hold my seat in Drexel's program and I've not yet begun UMDNJ's application.

Anyway, I'm looking for opinions on these programs.

All advice and help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

How much is the deposit? I would pay the deposit at Drexel to secure a seat and apply to UMDNJ. Being a NJ resident, if I were to be accepted at UMDNJ, I'd try to get the deposit back but not waste too much time on it since I'd be saving much more in tuition over the $100 lost at Drexel.

decartes,

Thanks for the reply. The deposit is either 400.00 or 500.00.

What is your opinion of the UMDNJ program? Do you think the 2 programs are comparable?

My goodness!!! $400-500??? See if they would accept less if you're going to attempt for UMDNJ.

I can't speak for Drexel's Program but I heard it's supposed to be excellent. Coming from UMDNJ, I can say that the program was good. They're apparently a new program and are still working out the kinks. Either way, both are supposed to prepare you for the NCLEX and earn you a BSN. The school does help but it really comes down to the student in order to achieve excellence.

Good luck!
