CNA - Dallas or Houston?

I was thinking about relocating to Dallas or Houston and work as a CNA until I finish school for my RN. I was wondering what would be the best decision Dallas or Houston? Do anyone know the base salaries for CNA's in Houston and Dallas? Where would it be best to live as a CNA. Where is the best pay and in Houston and Dallas? Which hospitals would you recommend? Also, is it waiting list for RN students who are trying to get accepted worst in Dallas or Houston? Thanks everyone for the replies.

There are no waiting lists that I am aware of in Houston. You apply each acceptance period, and if you don't get in you have to apply again the next time.

Houston or Dallas... thats a loaded question and just to let you know, they are almost like rival cities. Many people will be bias with there responses. Personally I have lived in both and I like Houston better. BUT that is MY PERSONAL opinion. You may be entirely different. If you do decide on Houston, The Texas Medical Center is the best place to work. It is also where three major BSN programs are located. Methodist, Herman, Texas Children's, M.D. Anderson, St. Lukes are top notch hospitals in the Texas Medical Center.

If your goal is to go to school, I would first pick the city that has a program or two that you are interested in. Both Houston and Dallas have ADN and BSN programs in or around them. Research that first and then maybe you can ask the school if they recommend any hospitals to work at while going through prereqs.

Good luck!
