I am starting yuba college's ADN program in August 2008, anyone out there completed this program and have any tips or advise.

Anybody out there going to be starting this program August 2008.

No, sorry. I will be at Yuba, but just starting my prerequisites. :(

Good luck!

I really have not heard much about Yuba on this forum. I have even tried to start a thread about the school and no hits. I am on the waitlist. I am hoping that maybe I will get in for Spring 2009 but who knows?:banghead: It seems like a pretty good school though. They have a good board passing rate. When did you initially hear about getting in for fall?

I applied in Jan. 2007 and I got my contract within 2 months to be on their waitlist. I then got a letter in Feb. 2008 to tke their assessment exam and finally heard by May 2008 that I will be starting their program in Aug. 2008. So it was about 18 months to wait. When did you apply Aquarius30. I have a friend that just applied this Jan.2008 and she is on their wait list but she's not sure if she will qualify since they will be using the new Chancellor's GPA criteria (you have to be at a 70%) to stay on their wait list. And I also found out today from another allnurse member that they will be taking some applicants In-district and some out-district so it can be a longer wait if you do not live in the area.

Yuba College has had recent changes to admissions.

What I was told by a counselor is that they are now accepting 30 students per semester to the waitlist - the 15 people from local and out of area with the highest points (GPA and HESI, I think. Not sure how they're weighting each). "Local" is pretty narrowly defined - I live 10 miles from, and in the same county as, the Woodland campus (where some of the classes take place), and I don't count as local.

They're also now requiring Intermediate Algebra, Chem 2A, and the HESI exam for all candidates, including those currently on the waitlist.

You may wish to confirm this info with a counselor before using it to make decisions, as I can't promise what mine said is 100% accurate.

I have been on the waitlist since April 2007.
