Does anyone have up to date information regarding working as a RN in Dubai oo the Middle East?? I worked as a scrub tech for Ortho, Neuro, Vascular for 10 years, completed my BSN and am currently working in a surg/trauma ICU. I originally wanted CRNA school but am slightly intrigued with the Middle East nursing adventure. Any words of advice/ encouragement/ caution would be greatly appreciated. Happy Belated Nurses Week!!

If you just want to travel and experience the Middle East (ME) then Dubai or Bahrain would be a great place to work but if you are concerned about pay then the ME isn't the place for you. I lived in Bahrain for 3yrs and Dubai for 2yrs as a DOD contractor and the medical personnel i befriended didn't make quite as much in the ME as they did in the U.S. but housing was free of course. If you decide to take up employment in the ME i would contact the local U.S. Embassy about the company for complaints or rights violation (some companies are notorious for confiscating employees passports for the length of the contract).
