Hello. I am hoping to get some insider information from anyone who is currently in or has been through the nursing program at WCCCD. I am ready to apply for the program this June and have heard a lot of not so great things about the program. I am aware that it is only accredited through the State of Michigan Board of Nursing, my concerns are about the program itself. I spoke with a few students coming out of their NCLEX practice test and they all said to not take the program at WCCCD. They said they got no help from the teachers and that they would advise us to run the other way. I have the ability to apply to Washtenaw Community College for their program however I don't want to wait 2 years to start the program. Any advice from those that are in the program or have completed it would be great! Thank you in advance!

It's about what you make it. I've heard a lot of people say that wcccd didn't prepare them for nursing. I believe that wcccd did prepare me for nursing. You have to take the iniative to study more than what they give you. Wcccd also made the class take a kaplan test prior to NCLEX that helped as well. Just don't let wcccd be your last school attended on your resume! When you start working in a hospital setting, ask questions. You'll find someone who doesn't mind teaching.
