Here are my answers ;)

1. Do you love, like or hate your job?

LIKE

2. What field of nursing are you in?

HOSPITAL-LABOR AND DELIVERY 2 YEARS

3. Are you FT, PT, PD?

FULL TIME (3 12'S WEEKLY)

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

SOME DAYS I LOOK FORWARD TO IT, IF I'M SCHEDULED WITH A GOOD/POSITIVE/FUN/SUPPORTIVE GROUP OF COWORKERS... OTHER TIMES I DREAD IT-LIKE ON WEEKENDS WHEN MY FAMILY IS HOME AND I HAVE TO GO TO WORK FOR 12 HOURS

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

DEALING WITH APPRECIATIVE PATIENTS, BEING PART OF A DELIVERY FOR FIRST TIME PARENTS WHO ARE EXCITED TO BECOME PARENTS OR A FIRST TIME GRANDMA AND DAD IS CRYING OR GRANDMA IS CRYING AND THE PATIENT SAYS THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP, BEING COMPLIMENTED BY A COWORKER, SEEING A LOOK OF RELIEF OR THANKS IN A COWORKERS EYES WHEN I HELP THEM WITHOUT THEM ASKING OR EXPECTING HELP

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

SOME DAYS WHEN IT'S CRAZY/CHAOTIC BUSY AND ALL THE POOP IS HITTING THE FAN AT ONCE--10. ON DAYS WHEN THERE ARE BARELY ANY PATIENTS AND A FUN GROUP OF COWORKERS, AND EVERYTHING IS GOING NORMALLY AND SMOOTHLY--0

7. What causes you the most job stress?

WHEN I'VE BEEN WORKING MY BUTT OFF AND A DOC COMES IN JUST TO BE RUDE OR UNAPPRECIATIVE, DRUG MOM'S IN PRETERM LABOR BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN DOPED UP ALL NIGHT AND THEY'RE SCREAMING AT YOU TO MAKE THEY'RE PAIN STOP AND NOT COOPERATIVE AND DELIVER THEIR 29 WEEK BABY AND THINK THEY'VE DONE A GOOD JOB, FETAL DEMISES

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

BETTER TEAM WORK, LESS GOSSIP, MORE POSITIVITY FROM MY COWORKERS (NO MORE FETAL DEMISES OR DRUG MOM'S)

1. Do you love, like or hate your job?

---I like my job

2. What field of nursing are you in?

---Home health

3. Are you FT, PT, PD?

---FT

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

---Most days, I look forward to it. I found that if I dread it, start the day in a bad mood, thats how my whole day is going to go. So I try to have a positive attitude.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

---At the end of the day, knowing that I did a good job to the best of my abilities... regardless if anyone else notices or not. I notice and thats what counts.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

---Most days, 3 or 4. But sometimes, its a 10... depending on the parent's mood. :)

7. What causes you the most job stress?

---Parents that nitpick and expect more services than what I am there to provide just because a previous nurse would bend the rules for them.

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

---Patient families that just allow me to do my job with their child without hovering every minute. I understand there are some untrustworthy home health nurses out there, but I am not one of them. Usually, it doesn't bother me but some days it does. I've done nothing for patient families to NOT trust me, but because of previous experience with other nurses, they have no respect or trust. Which is sad.

1. Do you love, like or hate your job?

- Love it

2. What field of nursing are you in?

-Ortho, 1 year

3. Are you FT, PT, PD?

- FT/32 hrs

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

- Most of the time I do look forward to it, there are of course days where I am dragging a little.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

My patients by far. Ortho is a speciality where most of the time we see patients come in for elective surgery and after a short stay they are walking out the door. My co-workers make my job enjoyable as well.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

- On average, I'd say 7

7. What causes you the most job stress?

-Nurse/patient ratios, taking care of multiple fresh post-ops, and FAMILY MEMBERS!!

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

-I wish I had more time to spend with my patients, but when you have 7 pts it is hard to give everyone the time I would like. As a night shift nurse, I wish we had more resources at night.

1. Do you love, like or hate your job? Love it!

2. What field of nursing are you in? Hospital float- A bit of everything!

3. Are you FT, PT, PD? Per Diem (1 or 2 shifts a week)

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it? Look forward to it, for the most part.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction? Appreciative patients and great co-workers

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you? I'd say between a 4 and a 10, depending on the day

7. What causes you the most job stress? Certain co-workers and family members

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day? Better nurse to patient ratios, if everyone (regardless of their title or position) took pride in their work so that tons of unnecessary things didn't get dumped on the nurse's shoulders

**Keep in mind, I haven't worked bedside nursing in around 9 years because I've been home with my kids. I only returned to per diem about 6 weeks ago. So, maybe I am in the honeymoon phase? But right now I love going to work. It is a welcome break from the stressors of home, since I need to focus on what I'm doing when I'm at work. It's nice to have the extra money. It's nice to be out of the house, and be someone other than "Mommy" for a while. The hospital I am working at seems to be pretty nice. There are a lot of nurses that have working there for decades. So far so good!

1. Do you love, like or hate your job?

I like it. Hope to love it. Still too new to feel the love yet.

2. What field of nursing are you in?

Telemetry/Intermediate Care

3. Are you FT, PT, PD?

FT

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

Mostly look forward to it. I go off orientation next week, though, and I am dreading that a little.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

Knowing I took good care of my patients, when I feel like I am organized and have a little extra time to go the extra mile for them.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

Kind of a steady 7 right now, but it's not a bad 7.

7. What causes you the most job stress?

Worrying I am falling behind, worrying I am not doing something I should be, when the floor has no techs and I have a couple of total care patients and a drip or two and I'm feeling like I am not giving the patients the care they deserve.

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

Enough staff, enough patient care techs, get rid of rotating schedules, less negativity from colleagues...

1. Do you love, like or hate your job?

I will go with love/hate

2. What field of nursing are you in?

neuo/medical

3. Are you FT, PT, PD?

FT-40 hours a week. self rostering which is a bonus though, it's only because we are such short staffed- ha.

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

most days i dont mind going in. sometimes once i get my patient assignment i wish i would have called in sick.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

When the doctors listen to you and start some patients on palliative care, that sounds morbid. But, there is nothing worse than them sending a 90year old through surgery, which they dooo. and then they die on the table. great. And working with great staff. I have a great manager and great staff around all the time. We have a blast doing some ****** work. so all in all the staff make this unit great and I think everyone on my floor would agree. the work is **** but, the people are great. and the 8 weeks holiday a year is good too.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

8? and when two patients code in one day we will go with a 10.

7. What causes you the most job stress?

how much care the patients needs, full nursing care. and the bad staff/nurse ratios.

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

i wish that they would just hire more staff and stop bringing in agency nurses.

1. Do you love, like or hate your job?

Hate it...but only because I want to learn more, I'm just a 2y/o nurse. Oh that and the fact that we don't have a say on our rights...

2. What field of nursing are you in?

for some reason I ended up in ER

3. Are you FT, PT, PD?

Full time at 40hrs/wk

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

I feel ambivalent about it

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

Doing the right thing.... Patients remembering me...Right now, hitting that vein properly for I am not a gifted IV nurse.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

hmmm.... 0+10= 10/2 = 5... 5, I guess

7. What causes you the most job stress?

Colleagues, doctors, the administration...Apparently, I happen to have lived in a deviant manner so I end up misplaced or misunderstood. :p Sorry to myself for having lived under the rock prior to nursing.

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

Nursing process? xD

Basically my problem is the lack of responsibility and learning experiences....since I can't pray for people to get sick because that's a bad thing to do..I'm trying to look for another job. I wish to work at a tertiary hospital. The thing is I'm scared of leaving my job only to find no work. We have a nursing job shortage in here too and a 2y/o nurse isn't considered much experienced...
