I do hope she is able to recover fully.
In the time I've been at my place, there has only been one AFE and it was ugly, though the mom made it. If we never had another one that would be okay.

I had a patient recently that had one as well (not this one) and hers went to her lungs. She was on a vent for a few days and recovered completely after a couple of weeks. Very scary, and unbelievable how devastating the outcome can be.

How unfortunate, yet lucky this woman is. There have been four that I can recall, none with as good as an outcome as she faces. I hope her youth and assumed general good health will benefit her recovery. It's good to see the news covering this to encourage community involvement in anyway they can.

In 31 years of nursing I have seen one and if I never see one again willl be way too soon. This Mom suffered a cardiac arrest and bled profusely. Baby and Mom by some miracle survived amazingly unscathed. BUt I never want to see one aver again!

Very sad. I do hope she recovers fully. I had a friend who died from an AFE three years ago this past July. It was so unexpected and so incredibly sad for a 24 year old mom to be gone so suddenly.

Have not seen this directly, and hope I never do.
I'm happy for this family that they seem to be on the mend. I hope Jessica continues to regain the use of her right side and that her memory returns.
