Yay! I did it! Let's get some excitement in the house!

Posted

I am a new grad RN and just hit my 1 month mark on my Med-Surg Oncology unit and I finally got the opportunity to insert my first IV!!! I was so excited and just had to share! There aren't many opportunities on night shift so I was way excited! AND to top it all off, I caught a patient "going bad" and intervened and got the right people involved and saved the patient!!

It has been a very hectic, but very rewarding couple of days : )

Congrats! Major accomplishments for a new grad 1. finding a job, 2. starting an IV 3. correct assessment techniques and intervening! I'm happy for you and you should be proud! CHEERS!
