Would it be too pushy to call recruiter again?

Hi everyone. Quick question---would it be too pushy to call a recruiter again when I have not received a return call from when I left a message two weeks ago? I've been in contact severeal times with this recruiter(where I currently work), and she's been great, and she suggested I give her a call, so I did and have not hear back. (almost two weeks now)I don't want to come off pushy or anything, but I really want this job and want to get some kind of idea if I can get it or not before I start applying elsewhere. I hate to put all my fish in one basket, but I'm afraid to interview elsewhere before I have some clue about my chances where I already work. I am getting a little paranoid(actually, I'm freaking out, feeling like I need to land my job before graduation!) I have to admit, even though I have had great employee reviews since I have been working there, and managers keep asking me if I'm going to come work for them...

Definitely call at least every two weeks (maybe weekly) to let them know you are still out there and interested. when you call ask when you could expect to hear from them again, and then call if you don't hear in that amount of time.

"Just wanted to follow up and see if you needed any more information from me..."

I would definitely call again. Anything might have happened - she didn't get the message, she forgot to call you back, or maybe she's been so busy she just hasn't gotten around to it yet. Best of luck!

I would definitely call back. When I was a DON and hiring staff, I always smiled at the enthusiasts. They wound up being the BEST employees! Good luck!

Thank you so much, you guys helped me out a ton---I was really nervous contacting her again, but I feel better now. And I just couldn't think of what to say without sounding anxious, so thanks again. Here's to hoping I will get the job!

Of course, then if I get a job I will have to stress about passing NCLEX...hehe, I hope someday there is nothing more to stress about! :)

I second the idea to contact her again. At this time of year many recruiters are overwhelmed. Good luck - let us know how it goes.

Here is a story that may give you some reassurance. I once applied for a job - not as a nurse but as a graphic arrrtist for a program in my college. I did not get the job, someone else did. Not long after I saw a poster for a lecture designed by the new-hirey. IT WAS AWFUL! So I pulled it off the wall, took it home, and designed my own poster, took it to the program office, and said "Here's the kind of work you'd be getting if you hired me!". And they fired him, and hired me! So, sometimes it pays to be pushy!

well, i have been in touch with my recruiter 3 times in the last week...lol i hope that is not too often! however, it is harder to find travel jobs as an lpn than it is as an rn. i would call. recruiters are not hr remember. they are there to find us jobs. i think if you have a question, you should feel comfortable enough to call. good luck!

No contact yet after you left a message 2 weeks ago? Of course you're not being too pushy!!! I'd have called back within 3 days or so---sometimes you just have to be a pest----or like nurse APP did (so appropriately, I might add), BLARE your own horn with evidence of the kind of work you're known for.
