Worthless check and early denial

Published

Just got an email denying me into the program due to a dropped charge. I am in shock because it was dropped and being expunged which I mentioned and it was from almost 5 years ago.

Is is it really over? Should I fight it or reapply after it’s expunged? I’m so lost right now.

I would keep trying.

They are in the drivers seat because there are always so many applicants. The decision makers can afford to be choosy. A history just makes it easy. Get it expunged and keep reapplying. You'll eventually get in...

I spoke with the nurse clinical coordinator and nursing dean and they offered me some options but advised me to wait to see If I get in (which I wasn’t aware that even though I was sent the form email of ineligibility they still will review my application). So now I have a month to wait to find out more. I’m suspiciously optimistic.

I got in and now I’m praying I get cleared for clinicals. It’s all up to the clinical sites once my check comes back as my expungement won’t go through in time due to paperwork being lost and me having to start over.

Saying a little prayer for you! This is actually ridiculous, imo. Who among the working class hasn't bounced a check?! I am actually horrible at balancing a bank statement, my husband does it and I no longer use checks.

Thank you, you would think the fact that the charge was dismissed would make it a non issue but it’s not. ?

So my background check came back with no record of the dropped charge, they almost denied me for nothing.

Ty for encouraging me to fight it.

Just went I think I am out of the woods, I’m not. Looks like I may have to order an additional background check more than anyone else because I was honest about the charge. So apparently if you lie and nothing comes up, they don’t look further but if you’re honest they make you do an additional check no one else has to do who either hasn’t ever been charged or if they lie about it. I’m even more frustrated.

Nothing came back, I am in the program and it was suggested to me to check with the BON to make sure I’ll be able to test and be licensed.
