Worried about SATA questions

Published

I am taking my nclex on June 6th less than two weeks away. I am doing kaplan and so far have gotten 65 on the diagnostic, q1 64, q2 65, q3 65, q4 65 and on the readiness test a 68%. I have not done the rest of the trainers yet but plan on completing them this week. I have also done 150 questions in the Qbank and getting high 60's. Kaplan said to just focus on doing questions and not so much content review and I should be fine when I test. The problem is I tried Kaplan's alternate quiz type and got 9 right out 27 questions. It is only one test so I cant practice just SATA questions and I am freaking out. They said not focus so much on content review but I feel the SATA questions are content recall. Anyone who has taken the NCLEX since April 2013 have a lot of SATA questions? Anyone who is weak with those questions and still pass? Recent test takers please comment :) Thanks!

Sound like you need to do some content review. You should be shooting for 80% on content review. Since nclex is CAT, everyone's test is individualized. People will say, my test was all Peds or my test was Ob. That is usually bc they struggled in the area and the test is designed to give you that content till you pass the standard. It does the same for question type. Focus on content and then critical thinking questions. Nclex assumes you know the content so it throws a lot of critical thinking questions as the test gets tougher. After that? Think prioritization. Make sure you get that content down. Good luck!

I'm also worried. I heard there's a way to make it simple by treating the answers as True & False, but I'm having trouble doing that. Help!
