You will need to be fluent in Italian and be able to pass their language exam, as well as their nursing exam and it is in Italian. That is just for the licensing part of it. Then you will need to have an employer petition you for a work visa for that.

Suggest that you contact their equivalent of the Board of Nursing, but be aware that all information is in Italian. You may wish to have your father obtain ir for you and send it to you.

I have been working in Italy as a nurse for about 6 months, but I am an EU citizen. But although it is hard.

There are new regulations for registration. You have to pass a language test. And you need an address and a tax number first. Then yoo need a visa for Italy but you will get this only if you have an employer and you only get an employer if you have a visa.....

Where do you want to live in Italy?

Hi,

.The equivalent for board of nursing it's called IPASVI you can find them on www.ipasvi.it (it's in italian).

Have in mind the salary in Italy for a 40 hours a week is around 1500,00 euros a month, a lot less than in the US.

Good luck.

Hello,

I also was looking for a job in Italy and I was thinking of trying the U.S. Naval Hospital in Naples. Let me know if you find out anything.

Are you fluent in Italian? I would suggest a search as there are a few posts explaining what to do and I posted a link this last few days on the Italian board of nursing. Also with EU requirements of Italy EU before rest of the world you may find it hard to find employer willing to process work permit

It is no longer going to be as easy as you think to work in Italy. To start with, you must be completely fluent in Italian and pass their language exams, and also pass their written nursing license exam. Then you have the issue of trying to get a visa to work there, unless you have significant work experience in an area that they need help in, chances will be quite slim if you are not at least a citizen of the European Union.

As far as the retrogression lifting anytime soon, do not expect it. And even if it lifts somewhat, there is still a limit on the number from one country per year and that number is under 10,000 for your country and many more applicants than there are visas.
