working with a suspended license

I recently went apply for a job as a lpn at a facility that I heard was recovery friendly and saw a lpn working there who I new had been arrested for stealing perscription pads and selling them. i looked on line and her license just stated that it was registered and had no disipines on it. I thought that my chances were good to get hired there if i was honest because i have been in recovery for over 3 years and am still being urine screened. well they did appreciate my honesty and told me it had been to long since i had worked in nursing. and to come back after i had worked for a period of time as a lpn. well after about 3 weeks i was lucky or should i say blessed to be hired from a facility near where i live as a LPN charge nurse. i still was bothered why that other nurse was working iat the facility that had not hired me. well I checkd her name on the nursing registry and this time it came up saying she was suspended. I had talked to a friend who had worked with her and found out she was still working there. I could not believe it. what would happen to a nurse who is working with a suspended license. i found out about a week later that she had been terminated but not for that reason. I am not sure what the reason was. can she get arrested for working with a suspended license.I wish her the best but i dont think she is in recovery at this time.when she had saw me come in for the job she looked at me as if she had saw a ghost. I would not have turned her in i just was glad to see she was working and wanted to say hello.I am just curious what can happen to somebody like that i had heard a few day later that she was bad mouthing me about the trouble i had been in years before . I am glad that i had went the way of recovery.I guess when someone says something bad about you they are trying to take the heat off themselfs.

Obviously she thought you had ratted her out and was trying to get back at you, or she was just lashing out anyway. Do not be concerned with her. She dug her own pit and she will have to deal with it. Be thankful for each day that you are getting yourself together. You are so blessed to have been able to find a job. So many in your situation are not so lucky. Good luck with this job.
