I recently applied for a job in Saudi Aramco and got a job offer. Do I have to pay tax on my income? Is it safe for UK nurses to work there?Thank you very much.

I have no personal knowledge but have been assured by those who have worked there. Apparently there is ample protection for expatriates and the situation on the ground is far calmer than often portrayed in news reports.
I am due to start work in the UAE in a matter of weeks and have been researching safety and other issues, especially in light of the unrest in some areas of the Arab world.
Thank you Stridet. Do we have to pay tax when we come back to UK?

Probably best to talk to your tax office but looking on their website you may have to declare it but no tax is required. may have to complete self assessment form
There is also a section regards working overseas on the direct.gov.UK website
The tax issue is another one I am researching. You can legally avoid paying tax by using off shore banking. The only proviso as far as I can see is that you assume a non- domicile status. This means you spend less than 90 days in the UK in a year. Whether this is a tax year or any period of 12 months is not clear to me yet. I hope to find out more from my accountant.
Perhaps others can shed more light on this!
