Hello!
I am finishing up my pre-requirements at Mesa Community College and will filling out an application by the end of fall 2015 semester. Can any of you currently in the RN to BSN or CEP program tell him if it is impossible to work while going to school. That is my biggest worry right now because I bring in the biggest income in my household and like everyone else I have a mortgage and other bills. Where any of you successful at finding a job that works with that schedule. I thought about making working as a CNA but unfortunately the salary they usually make will not be enough for my bills. Thank you!

Hi I am a current nursing student at a Maricopa college and I personally quit my job in order to attend the program. Some people do work but I personally needed all the time I could get to study. The other thing is that the nursing program schedules can interfere with your work ,kids school, schedule etc. I was in class 2 days a week typically with and occasional 3rd day for clinical practice. Some students were put into afternoon classes. Also you will need to do a clinical somewhere and that may be a 12 hour shift on a week or weekend day. You really don't know until you are in your first day orientation and they give you your schedule. So a flexible job is in my opinion what is needed. Each block has a different class schedule as well. Be prepared to be flexible.
Thank you for the info Jonathan. So you have a set classroom day each week however the clinical can vary any day of the week?

Hi Jonathan, can you tell me about your schedule? Like, times your classes start and clinical days? I am trying to get an idea of what my hours MIGHT look like so I can have an idea of how to plan ahead for work, kids school, etc.. I am debating between the morning and afternoon classes, wondering which one would work best with work, kids, marriage etc. Thank you!!
