Can you work as a CNA if you are still in training?

Hi! It really depends on the facility, but I think typically they want you to be certified before they will hire you. The process can take pretty long sometimes. Depending on the state you live in it could take more than a month after you finish the class to take the test. That's how it is here in the Seattle area. It won't hurt to call around and ask. I did know of some people who were able to land a job before receiving their certification.

Yes you can work unlicensed in a nursing facility for 4 months before you're required to be certified as long as you're seeking certification. Many facilities have in-house training to allow you to work and be trained there at the same time, but this still applies if you're training elsewhere. Here's a link:
