Hello, this is my first post on allnurse although I have been reading the message board here since I was in nursing school.
We recently started carrying iphones for work in order to enhance communication among the team. During our staff meeting, some nurses expressed concern over patient perception of the staff using work phones. I remember when I was in nursing school in Boston, one of the hospitals had a sign about staff work phone use stating something like "please don't be offended, we are using our phones to coordinate your care". I've been trying to find this sign and the wording of the sign or any hospital that uses a similar sign to no avail. I was hoping to find some input on how your place of employment handles patient perception. Does your hospital post a sign?
Thank you,
Mary

We don't post a sign, but I love this idea! I will probably mention that I saw it here and see if it takes.
