Hello! I just became a CNA in Nov. I am visually disabled and cant drive. I havent been able to find really anyone to hire me because of that. Also, I have MA insurance and get monthly checks. Do I have to contact social Ssecurity to tell them i need a job in order to keep my certification? Also, Is there a way to keep my certification without working because of my disablilty? I am looking for home health, probably temporary. Thanks! Please contact me! [email protected]

Obviously companies/people can't NOT hire you because of your disability. According to the ADA, when applying for a position and have restrictions for the company/people a job within your restrictions needs to TRY to be met. HOWEVER, since you cannot drive yourself to the job I think it's almost impossible to get a job unless you can find a ride or find a facility close enough to where you live. As far as keeping your license current, I would contact the Department of Regualtion & Licensing. BEST OF LUCK & GOD BLESS!!!!!
