Sick of the waiting list at MATC in Milwaukee! Need advice on other Nursing programs in the Milwaukee area!?

Ive petitioned twice now at MATC with no success. Im ready to look at what my options are in the milwaukee area! wondering if anyone else has gotten a headache with MATC and went else where!????

How long have you been on their waiting list? As far as I know all the ADN programs have waiting lists except cardinal stritch..but they're a bit pricey for an ADN program imo. The private BSN programs don't have waiting lists but are expensive..and the public BSN programs such as UW-Milwaukee are extremely competitive.

I know at Gateway tech in kenosha you usually get into clinicals after 2-2 1/2 years on the waitlist. Which isn't bad if you're taking your pre-reqs at the same time, but sucks if you have nothing left to take.

ya, 2 times petitioning is only like a one year wait. Hang in there. I petitioned 3 times before I got in at Gateway. You may be called in the next round. Are all your pre-reqs done and your packet filled out completely and all requirements met? Can you call them and ask what number you are on the list? Otherwise, ya, there's Stritch, Bryant and Stratton, WCTC, Alverno, UW, etc. But some of those cost more and most will take you more time than MATC. It's really your call as to what to do.

If you really can't stand to stay at MATC bryant and stratton or stritch might be your best bets...I'm pretty sure they don't have waiting lists. I know WCTC does, and at Alverno and UW you will probably need to take at least a year more of pre-reqs before being eligible for clinicals anyway.

Although depending how long you've been on their waiting list you might want to stay, I'd check and see how far down you are on the waitlist. If your turn is up soon it might make more sense to just wait it out then to spend more money at bryant & stratton or stritch.
