I'm not sure about Hawaii, but I'm a RN here in the Philippines and I just recently passed the NCLEX in California, but I'm endorsing it to Vermont since I don't have SSN. Maybe you just need to submit your credentials to CGFNS when you have already completed your degree. Are you a US citizen?
ya im a U.S citizen as well as having a dual citizenship here for the phillippines.
do i have to work a certain amount of years in a hospital here in the PH before i can apply in america?

No you don't however having experience would help any applications you make for jobs
Then I guess you will not have any problems about hawaii not recognizing your bsn degree. Just pass the nclex and if you can find work in a hospital then your all set.

Can you work in Vermont without a SSN ? I have the NCLEX exam done but no SSN?

Continue your BSN program there in the Philippines, then once you pass the NCLEX RN exam then you can go back to HI or relocate to other States. The problem here in the USA right now is that there are oversaturation of nurses that hospitals are very "picky" now, they prefer US grads and have 2-3 years acute care experience ( if you want to get in the hospitals) than for us foreign grads but if you want , you can always find a job at Skilled Nursing Facilites and get your acute experience there. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
Most require SSN as well as proof of residency like Green Card or other type of visa allowing you to live and work in the US
Vermont allowed me to endorse my California license to them plus its stated in the application if you can't provide them with ssn, just photocopy your passport and send it to them along with the rest of your application.
ok thanks guys, this helps alot! much love :)
Thanks for the reply guys, will check it out :)

That's NOT true at all. I graduated from DCLC (Lanting College in Novaliches March 2011), passed the July 2011 NLE and passed the NCLEX Oct. 2011. Today is NOVEMBER 2011 and I am currently working as an ICU nurse here in Florida. What I noticed is that nurse managers (Interviewers) prefer recent grads over those who graduated long ago (10-15 years ago). I aced though my interview; I think that made the difference because they hired me on the spot.
