First off I want to say how excited I am to have found this forum! I've been on this site for a few months, and I'm so excited to have found a forum dedicated to career advice.

Here's a little background of myself: I'm graduating from an ASN program in one month. Words can not even begin to explain how excited I am to start working! I've been job searching for the past month or two and it's been a lot more challenging than I ever dreamed it would be! I had one interview a little over a month ago on my dream unit. The nurse manager was very nice and I would say that overall I did well. Not great but not bad either, the problem was I was just so nervous! Two weeks ago I got a call from HR requesting that I come in and shadow a nurse on the unit for the evening. So about a week and a half ago I shadowed a nurse and I absolutely loved it, and the staff was all great and so friendly! But I haven't heard anything since. The day after I shadowed, I called the nurse manager and left a message along w/my phone number thanking her for the experience. I just called HR today to follow up and see if she heard anything but she didn't answer either, so I just left a message. Right now I'm thinking that I didn't get the job. So here's my question- how do you know when you didn't get the job? Will HR be kind enough to call me and tell me they "found a better candidate?" Or should I just not expect a return phone call? I guess I'm being too senestive about this but it seems really mean to just leave someone hanging like that and not let them know what's going on! :crying2:

Thanks in advance for your responses! :heartbeat
