Will hospitals pay tuition for it's employees?

Published

I'm thinking about getting a bachelors online once I finish the two year program. I will work after the 2 yr course in a hospital and hope that the hospital will reimburse tuition for going back to get the online BSN degree. Has anyone here had problems getting hospitals to reimburse?

Check with HR at the facility that you are planning on working at. Every hospital is different. Most hospitals do have a tuition reimbursement program. Check around at different hospitals before you accept a position if that is your goal. Where I work you must be an employee for 1 year before they will let you take part in this program. To answer your question, normally it is not difficult to get your money back. As long as the tuition reimbursement program has not been cut from the budget.

Good luck with your studies.

I agree with what the above poster stated... Also, a lot of hospitals expect that you work for them a minimum of two years after you graduate in order to receive tuition reimbursement. I'm not sure the outlook of tuition reimbursement in this economy, but if you come across a hospital you're interested in that offers it, make sure it's a hospital you're willing to commit to for a few years. Good luck!

My hospital offers excellent reimbursement. I submit my receipts and grades... next paycheck is my $$$$. Beautiful. No red tape nor jerking around. My education has been free (or what I have paid out-of-pocket has be negligible). I got a scholarship through work on top of it. I hope you find something as blessedly perfect as I did.

My hospital pays up front; you don't have to put the money out at all.

my hospital had a student nurse program and they closed down the program..... they would pay the tution of the nursing student and the student would work for them for a few years,,, but i guess they had to many student nurses they could not place , they only hire 1 or 2 new grads a year now ..

Dang it I'm so jealous of you!!! But I'm sure you worked hard at maintaining your GPA to get the blessing.
