Wichita pay

Published

This question has been asked here a few times, but no clear answer has been given (maybe there's a reason for that, I don't know). So, here I go to ask it again. My husband and I are moving to Wichita in 4 months. I am a Registered nurse and when we move, I will be right at 2 years of experience. I am currently in a step-down unit, but planning to apply at an ICU, possibly St. Joseph's. Can anyone please give me an idea of what pay is in a Wichita ICU for a nurse with my amount of experience?

I am also thinking of applying at Galichia heart hospital, as I think that would interest me. Anyone familiar with that hospital. It's relatively small, right? I think that's what attracts me to it. Please respond. Thanks.

Specializes in Hospital OB/GYN.

I don't live in Wichita so I can not help you, but have tried to call their HR dept and ask what a salary range at that hospital might be? If you are not getting a response here, that might be the only way to get an answer. You could always ask anonymously.

Good luck with finding the info you need.

I do live in Wichita but I work for the VA where salary is quoted in yearly ranges and I've been here a long time, but I think you are looking at just over $20 an hour. I could be wrong about that, but I think my son hired in at Wesley for $18 as a new grad a year ago. Does that help? The hospitals pretty well stick together on wages to be competitive.

That does help, and I think you're right on. Thanks so much!
