Yesterday I had my meeting with the head of the nursing dept., for selection purposes for the January program.
I was very nervous as this woman is very intimidating, very "rough" and really makes you feel like you are about 2" tall.
Our program uses a points system for selection purposes. As she was going over all of my paperwork she gave constant compliments to me. I was 2 points away from a perfect score. She said a couple of times how impressed she was. Said it was obvious that I'm a very bright and capable person.
She also said that while she couldn't give me a definate answer then and there, that she would be very, very shocked if I didn't make it into the program.
She asked if I had an advisor since I am coming from another campus and I didn't, so she put me on her list and said "you and me will be buddies until you graduate then."
This woman was soooo different from the other interactions I've had with her.
They will be meeting for decisions on Oct 5 which is my birthday....I'm trying not to get too excited until I have the acceptance letter. But I am so excited! Would be an awesome bday gift for sure.
Now, if I can only pass A&P I which is currently kicking my butt and making me question if I can actually make it through nursing school!
Not passing A&P this semester = no program in January
Anyhow, I tried to share this info with my best friend who is a nurse but cant get ahold of her. My husband and I havent had a chance to talk. My other friend is doing very poorly in school so I didn't feel right sharing this with her.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks so much, Siri!
I've not had any good news in sooo long, I walked out of her office on cloud 9.
I'm hoping she wouldnt say those things to get me hopes up just to have them dashed, but you never can tell. She's never struck me as a "compliment giver."
Now the waiting begins.....

When I applied to LVN school I had low low entrance exam scores ( I dont test well) but I knocked thier socks off during the interview. I personally think if you can bring the house down during a torture chamber like a entrance interview .... You are as good as in..... ....CONGRATS TO YOU... :yelclap:

Best of luck to you!!! That is wonderful. I highly doubt she would have acted so encouraging if she didn't really mean it, so that has to be a good sign. As far as the A&P goes . . . if there is any way at all, try getting a little ahead and then take a day or two and don't even touch it. This might help clear your head and allow you to relax. Do something else - go to a movie, play with the kids, go to the park, whatever, just not A&P. This helps me when I start getting lost in it. That way, when I come back to it, my mind is fresh and sometimes it makes more sense. Either way - you have come this far, you can do it! :)
