Who should I talk to?

Published

Hi all! I am a pre-nursing student and looking into my options. I have an appointment with the nursing school at the CC that I currently attend and one at the university near by. I trying to weigh my options between getting my ADN or BSN.

However, I would like to talk to local hospitals and clinics in my area to find out which they are more likely to hire. My question is, what is the best method for going about this? Should I talk to someone in HR or try to make appointments with managers directly? I know the managers are busy, and I wouldn't want to impose on their time if it is not necessary. I would also like to fid out about loan repayment programs and information like that.

Btw, getting into a program is not really a concern of mine, I am willing to be waitlisted to get into my preferred program as I am working on dual degrees.

They're all going to tell you BSN.

They're all going to tell you BSN.

Maybe.

There are a lot of factors, like the reputation of the schools in your area, how saturated the market is with ADN's and BSN's, the kind of needs the facility will have by the time you graduate, etc.

Good luck talking to HR. :uhoh3: If you want you can just talk to one of your walls.

you could look on their websites. a lot of employers now post all the open jobs on their website & they usually say what the minimum requirements are for a particular job. they all say BSN in my city and I think that is generally the trend these days but maybe not in all areas.

Thanks for the info! Any ideas on how I can fin out who has repayment programs? Is that something my school would know?
