So my unit currently has no manager, and no nurse director....so who do I give my letter to? Only HR or CNO too? And would it be best If I give a month notice to the charge nurse by word? I’ve never quit a job before...this is my first employer ever. Thanks!

If there is no manager or director, I would give it to HR.

I would make sure that whoever does your scheduling knows the specifics as well. I've read more than a couple of accounts in which people were getting calls from units at their former employers asking "Where are you? You're supposed to be working." Granted it's not your problem at that point, but it still puts the units in a bind if that snafu occurs...

Someone is your upline even if you have no manager or director.

I would find out who is responsible for your unit/floor right now. Someone is. It has probably been added onto the plate of a different director and you just haven't heard much about it, but if there's really no one who has been assigned this supervision then notify the CNO along with HR.
