It's been a long long wait and it's finally right around the corner. I'll know if I'm in my nursing school within the next two weeks! Ahh!! I couldn't be more excited/nervous. I applied in January, so it's been almost 6 months of waiting for this moment! Not including the two years of prerequisites! If anyone else is getting their letter in the next two weeks and wants to have someone to talk to about all the emotions, feel free to join this topic and talk to me :). At my school they will send the letter in the mail and we find out if we are accepted, if we are, we also find out if we start in August or January. So it's the double whammy. Haha. Getting accepted is based on 1)GPA in the prerequisites(4.0 for me) 2) hesi score (88 for me) 3) number of classes taken at my school (all of mine)
To determine if we start in August or January, they just pill names out of a hat! So that one is totally out of our control.
I get so excited when I think about starting this August.. There is nothing I've wanted more. I've been looking at scrubs, stethoscopes, watches, shoes... Haha.
Congrats to everyone who already got accepted.

I fully understand your excitement!!
I just found out last week that I was accepted into the RN program. I've already looked at stethoscopes, BP cuffs, shoes, pens, clipboards, badge clips, and tons of other things. I start in August!
CONGRATS TO YOU!!!! :)
I hope that's me in a few weeks haha.

You might start preparing for those classes. A little preparation now will reduce your stress and work load come either August or January.
To get a head start, search for "nurse training" videos on Youtube. There are thousands of them. Pick ones you find interesting and treat them as entertainment. Remember, you're not going to be tested on them, so watch and enjoy.
If you've got an smartphone or tablet, you might watch for special deals on nursing related apps. A few weeks ago, two $25 anatomy iPad apps were marked down to 99 cents. Also check out nursing podcasts for when you're on the go.
Best wishes for your success.
