I am an RN from Guam (US territory) and been thinking of moving to the mainland and one of the states we are considering is the state of Texas. I personally do not have any relatives there but am willing to try and start a new life.
Is there such thing as the best place to consider raising a family in there? In terms of job security and family friendly place?
Hoping for some thoughts from you all.
I am planning to visit and see t for myself maybe next year.

The North Dallas suburbs (Plano, Allen, McKinney, Frisco, Fairview, Carrollton, Richardson) are very family friendly with low cost of living, excellent schools and a booming economy.

Austin, Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth and San Antonio are all good areas with lots of suburbs to choose from, some better than others.
Also tons of smaller cities to look into (Waco, Lubbock, Corpus Christi, Galveston, Temple, El Paso, Amarillo, Beaumont, Midland and many others) that are good places to live.
Texas is huge with lots of options, many "best" places to choose from. Costal, forsets, hill country, plains, desert, Texas has it all.
Thanks to both of you. Starting to search and read about those places mentioned!

Texas has many good places to live and cost of living is bonus here, as well as the being a conservative.
If I was going to pull up and start over, I would head to Hawaii

Leander, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown areas are nice and close to Austin for lots of family things to do. Housing can be a little on the high side, but there are plenty of jobs around here as well. There are quite a few state parks within a short drive. I love it here. :)

I lived in Raleigh, NC some years ago and loved it. Great place, great people, lots of good schools, nice/simple life. A smallish city with everything you really want. Beaches nearby, Mountains nearby. Brilliantly located for visiting out of state. Nice family life with great housing prices.

You may want to begin by deciding on the type of geography & climate that appeals to you - coastal? piney woods? rolling hills? desert? high plains? That would be the hardest factor to change if it doesn't suit you. Will you also be considering job opportunities for your spouse?
My wife is also BSN graduate from Manila Philippines and she is reviewing for her NCLEX RN exam soon.
That's really a good thing to consider! The kind of environment that best suits us! I was only considering at first was a place with a great neighborhood to raise my kids.
