Which NP track is most marketable in Missouri

Published

I am a RN-BSN who is now applying to NP school at University of Missouri-St.Louis (UMSL). I am new to allnurses.com. I have spent considerable time reading the NP specialty posts. It is clear from my reading, that you should know the area you will be working. I have looked in the classifieds and spoke to nursing instructors, and other NPs. I still don't have a good handle on which NP track; would be the most marketable in Missouri. Particularly in St.Louis city/county. I would love to hear from those NPs practicing in the St. Louis Area. Secondly, I do not see alot of NP jobs advertised in the St. Louis area. Where are the NPs finding these jobs in my area? What Salary/Benefits/Work settings...etc I work in a hospital, so I know there are some postings internally. Any suggestions on how to test the market for NP jobs? I have tentatively selected the FNP track, but not completely sold on it yet. Thanks
