For a new RN in an OR Orientation, would you suggest learning circulation or scrub first? This would be after about a week in sterile processing. I have been told circulation should be taught first. Just curious.

And it going to totally depend on the facility. in mine, RNs very rarely scrub; those that do were either previous STs or had scrub experience at another facility. So, all we learn is circulating. However, I can see the benefits of starting with the circulator role- it's a bit more of an easing the new nurse into the OR environment.
