Where do I start with EC?

Published

I'm an LPN wanting to get my RN. I went to a school today in CT and was told the earliest I would be done with my RN there would be the end of the Summer of 2010. Plus I would have to rearrange my work schedule and increase childcare. SO after much thinking I decided to go with EC like I had initially planned.

I had met with someone from TCN. I decided after reading these lovely forums that it was overpriced and not worth it. However, a girlfriend of mine that I graduated with is doing EC through TCN and has agreed to give me her books to test out of some of the CLEP and Dantes. I emailed a person with admissions through EC but I don't think I need to apply yet. I guess I'm confused as to what CLEP & Dantes I need to take and how to get that information. I'm assuming that EC will send me a packet. I guess I just need to get the ball rolling.

Thanks!

No, you should apply to EC now; just don't enroll yet. Applying means that EC will look over your transcripts and tell you exactly what you need to take, rather than you guessing and possibly wasting your time taking classes you don't need.

Thank you, I contacted admissions so I will get that process going. I guess I need a detailed path of exactly what I need to do. They should provide that right?

If you go straight to EC and apply you'll find out all the exams, CLEPS you'll need to complete the program. I bought all my guides of Ebay, and I joined a couple of yahoo groups and have passed all my exams thus far. I've met many people via this site...the resources on and off this site is limitless.

Wishing you much luck, I'm loving this program...I love coming home and sitting by my window to study instead of going into a classroom. Let me know if I can be of any help....I love anything EC.:D
