Wow, nice to have choices. I have to tell you I believe in enjoying your life while you can since we never know how much time we have. I do not mean living frivously, just enjoying every day as much as we can. I once moved to Florida for that very reason. I had just seen a young healthy man poisoned just by doing his job working in the forests for a paper company......was told to contact his lawyers and get everything in order. He had two young boys.

I moved to St Petersburg and loved the area. I love the Gulf coast side

of Florida better than the East side.

I have moved a lot over the years. You may want to try different areas.

You have picked some nice ones. Also, look at the cost of living and the

taxes, etc....that can make a big difference in what you actually have

left to save or whatever.

God bless you in your adventures!

In geneal pay in the south is very poor in comparison to the Northeast. It depends on what is important to you.

The Carolina Coast would be my personal choice... at least that way you still have the mountains in a four hour drive for skiing, or just plain variety.

Myrtle is too commercial for me, but Wilmington is just up the road. So you can go either way, there. NC pay is quite decent, from what I know. Not sure about SC.

Fla. would just be toooooooo hot and humid for my taste, and I'd stay clear of Miami totally ! BLECH !!! (Or ANY huge city, really).

But then... this is coming from a 56 year old who has already had her day in the sun ! :D

Put me back thirty years, and I'd be up for anything ! :chuckle

Jnette, is that you in the pool? NO WAY are you 56? What's your secret? C'mon, tell! :chuckle

I'm with jnette on this one. The Carolinas would be great. Lots of scenery changes with the beaches and mountains in close proximity.

Florida I wouldn't be so hot on because of the cost of living, cost of homes in the area. My SIL and BIL just moved down there from Colorado, and they experienced sticker shock from the prices of homes around Tampa. Another thing to consider about FL is that the scenery doesn't change much. You do have the beaches, but the land is so much the same. You do have some exciting things to do in FL, Disney, Cape Canaveral if you are interested in space and aviation, the Keys are pretty from what I understand.

I don't know much about Corpus Christi though. If it's like Galveston, TX, you do have the beach but it's not very scenic.

I think that by going to the Carolinas, you have a lot to chose from whether you like the mountains or the beach.

Good luck to you... hope you find that place that's right for you.

The only thing that i am worried about is that I will be moving to a place where i know NO ONE.... if i go to wilmington, Im only 520 miles from home... So it would be cool....

Maybe I should get my license and work here for a lil while move out of my mom's house and maybe stay here for like 6 months - 1 year..... So that way i can get some experience under my belt b 4 I just up and go.....

I WOULD LOVE to work for an Travel agency, however, most places require you to have like 10 months under your belt. So maybe the above statement would be best.....

Thanks guys

Sounds like good advice you just gave yourself, Dave. If you're intersted in Travel Nursing.. stay put for 6 mos. to a year, get some solid nursing practice first. Then quench your thirst for travel and take some great assignments of your choosing ! That' way you can get to know all the places and the geography, climates, living expenses, etc., and that will help you down the road when the time comes that you decide you want to "settle" somewhere.

And hey... I flew across the ocean at 20 not knowing a SOUL here in the US, so quit your whining and go spread your wings !!! :p

And back then we had snailmail, not email. And international calls were out of the question, htey were too expensive.

So shaddup and get a life ! :D

I love Miami, but if you don't speak Spanish you're going to have a hard time communicating with your patients.

I also love the Carolina coast.

What about the Gulf Coast of Florida. The lifestyle is a bit slower than Miami, but it's nice.

Good luck.

Its not so much Florida that im really interested in... its more the carolina coast.. however, im thinking that i probably will take my own adivice and stay put for a lil bit, and then do travel nursing....

But gosh i dunno i just wanna leave here SO BAD.... I absoulutely HATE tennessee, espically the small town i live in... I have never lived in the City but i like it so much better as far as staying there.
