A couple people posted below that I should become a CNA to get my foot in the door. Where can I take classes? Any places that you know of that have free CNA training?

Try calling the surrounding nursing homes around you and asking whether they offer classes. Many offer them for free. Also Ivy Tech offers a CNA prep. You may qualify for fin. aid otherwise, it will be cost of tuition, materials, and testing.
I have not done either. A friend of mine got her CNA last semester through Miller's Merry Manor. It did not cost her anything and she did not have to sign a work contract or anything. She works there PRN and Part time at a home health agency. She is waiting to hear whether she got in for the LPN program for fall.
Good Luck to you!
