I just received my ATT in VA as an Excelsior grad. Due to the nature of the excelsior program, we don't meet the 500 clinical hour requirement by the state of VA, so VA allows us to sit and receive a provisional license (a certain number of hours for past work as an LPN are credited).
Where can I get a job with a provisional license? Is this going to mean working as an intern for awhile? Or will I be able to get a paying job as an RN?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

You may want to contact the VA State board of nursing for your questions. They may be able to tell you more. I live in Virginia as well, but am an LPN. I usually go to their website and email them with any questions I have, and they get back to me rather quickly usually. Good luck!

Hi RN-DC
I hope all is going well in your first year as a RN!
I wanted to know if you ended up going this way once you graduated. If you did (or did not), how did it all work out for you. I'm not yet done with the program but I am plugging away here in Hampton Roads and my options for hospitals outside of Virginia in my area are limited.
Thanks
Greg
