I am thinking to purchase a couple of good stethoscopes, but not sure which brand is a good one. Could someone help?

Lithman Stethescopes are by far the best and they have a lifetime warranty on them. They are on the pricy side (100 and up) they last forever.

I have a littman and love it, I have tried others but I find the littman suits me best.
I just did an internet search for Littman stethoscopes and there were loads of websites popping up selling them

DRG (Doctors Research Group)/Trimline, Riester and MDF - all also very good, and you may find less expensive than Littmann

i definitely always see doctors with "LITTMAN" steths, and thats the one i own, but who knows. it could be just another "LABEL" thing, where everyone just goes with the flow. there could be better ones out there, but i dono of any yet .
Yup, it's a "designer label" thing for sure, but you will find that the PureTone (DRG/Trimline), cardiophon and tri-star (Riester), and the ER Premier (MDF) models are all of equal calibre.

I am an Ultrascope lover. Lifetime guarantee and I get new tubing with eartips every few weeks (free). Just pay $7.95 S&H and choose whatever color I want (I have every single color now). You just take the diaphram out and pop into your new tubing.
I own an adult one and an infant one........LOVE them :heartbeat
The adult one I have had for 4 years (since nursing school).

:typingHi there:
I agree that Littmann is the best. The bottom line Littmans are expensive when compared to other brands but are more duarble and dependable. They are unquestionably the best. If I were you I would buy one middle of the road Littmann and take care of it. Skip buying two-you don't need to. However, engrave your name on the bell, and don't leave it around as someone, notoriously docs will pick it up to "borrow it" and you will never see it again. Keep it with you, and be very selective when it comes to lending it out. I am partial to the Littmann Cardiology Scope. It is expensive but not that much more then the basic and a much higher quality instrument. It's great for Critical Care users. For Med-Surg., a basic Littmann is just fine. See the Link above the forums to buy direct from Littmann and skip the $ that goes to a middle man such as a uniform or eqiuipment store.
Good Luck!

I use my husband's Cardiology II Littmann...it's 15yrs old and is WONDERFULL!! I have tried the others but have never gotten the same quality as my/our Littmann.

The lower, base models can run in the 30s on allheart, and they're still better then your average sprague scope.

It is more than just a label thing.... IT IS A
3M™ Littmann®
LABEL THING..
I think most people can agree that anything 3M touches, turns to better, if not best!
